We\u2019re excited to be hosting an exhibition of Sandy Nelson\u2019s stunning photographic works. Sandy\u2019s images\u2014from Antarctica to Africa\u2014capture the beauty and spirit of wild places around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please join us for a special talk by Sandy Nelson as she shares insights and stories from her global photographic journey. Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Artist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandy\u2019s passion for photography began during a 2002 Antarctic expedition, inspiring her lifelong dedication to documenting wildlife and natural landscapes. Since retiring in 2015, she has travelled extensively to photograph regions including the Galapagos, Costa Rica, Alaska, and Africa. A member of the Victoria Park Gallery since 2020, she aims to inspire care for our planet through her imagery. Her work has received multiple honours, including ROM Wildlife Photo of the Year (2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walker House Remembers: Collaborative Community Exhibition- Nov 1st- Nov 16th<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhibition Dates<\/strong>: November 1 \u2013 November 16<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Walker House Remembers exhibit is a collaborative community exhibition developed by the Walker House Museum in partnership with residents of Kincardine, Bruce, Huron, and Grey Counties. The exhibit seeks to honor and preserve the stories of those who served, sacrificed, and triumphed during the First and Second World Wars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through a combination of personal narratives, historical research, and meaningful artifacts, the exhibition explores the experiences of local individuals, both on the front lines and at home. It highlights the challenges faced by the community during wartime, how residents coped with hardship, and the many ways they supported the war effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibit will feature items from the Walker House Museum\u2019s collection, as well as artifacts and personal stories generously loaned by community members. These contributions will be gathered through outreach efforts led by the Paddy Walker Heritage Society, including interviews and calls for personal memorabilia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enrich these stories, the Society will pair them with historical documentation, such as letters, photographs, and military records\u2014offering a fuller understanding of the local impact of global conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us at the Walker House Museum for a special Remembrance Day Exhibit running from November 1st to November 16th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This poignant exhibit will showcase a unique display honouring Charlie Mann, generously loaned by the Municipality of Kincardine, alongside artifacts from our own collection that tell the compelling stories of those who served in WWI and WWII. We\u2019re proud to have the Lions Club contributing to this meaningful event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
