Walker House Remembers: Collaborative Community Exhibit

Walker House Remembers: Collaborative Community Exhibition

Exhibition Dates: November 1 – November 16

The Walker House Remembers exhibit is a collaborative community exhibition developed by the Walker House Museum in partnership with residents of Kincardine, Bruce, Huron, and Grey Counties. The exhibit seeks to honor and preserve the stories of those who served, sacrificed, and triumphed during the First and Second World Wars.

Through a combination of personal narratives, historical research, and meaningful artifacts, the exhibition explores the experiences of local individuals, both on the front lines and at home. It highlights the challenges faced by the community during wartime, how residents coped with hardship, and the many ways they supported the war effort.

The exhibit will feature items from the Walker House Museum’s collection, as well as artifacts and personal stories generously loaned by community members. These contributions will be gathered through outreach efforts led by the Paddy Walker Heritage Society, including interviews and calls for personal memorabilia.

To enrich these stories, the Society will pair them with historical documentation, such as letters, photographs, and military records—offering a fuller understanding of the local impact of global conflict.
